Japanese maple is very beautifull small, deciduous tree with maximum height about 6-8 metres. It is native to Japan ana Korea and prefers locations that has sun and shade throughout the day. Japanese maple can stand tempertures about -15 degrees C and prefers rich soils. It can be propageted from seeds, different decorative forms by grafting. Sorts with red or blue folliage it better thrive at more sunny places otherwise they become green. It is most commonly used as a accent near garden ponds and alpineums. Very suitable for bonsai. Most common diseases:Verticile fading,Powdery mildew,leaf spots,necrosis in the cortex,Bacterial leaf spot,decay. Pests:aphids,mites,martens.
